About Us
Ethics and business integrity
A code of conduct that applies to everyone working for or on behalf of Falaj, and a reporting channel that does not run through the line.
The Falaj code of conduct applies to every employee, contractor, agent and joint-venture representative acting on the group's behalf. It covers bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, sanctions and trade controls, competition law, data protection and human rights.
Anti-bribery training is mandatory annually for every employee and for any contractor with commercial authority. Facilitation payments are prohibited without exception, including where local practice tolerates them.
Modern slavery statement
We publish a modern slavery statement each year covering the group and its supply chain. The current commitments are:
- Human rights and labour clauses in every contract above OMR 50,000
- Audit rights over accommodation and pay records for site contractors
- A prohibition on recruitment fees charged to workers, at any tier
- Passport retention treated as a terminable breach, not a warning
- Annual third-party audit of camp conditions at all operated sites
- Published findings, including the failures and what was done about them
Whistleblowing
Concerns can be raised through the line, through the compliance function, or through an independently operated reporting channel that accepts anonymous reports in Arabic, English, Russian and Hindi. Reports reach the chair of the audit and risk committee without passing through management.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is a dismissible offence, and that has been applied. Case volumes and outcomes are reported in the annual sustainability report in aggregate.
