Rish Dune Gas Processing Plant
A 320 MMSCFD sour gas processing and treatment plant taking associated and non-associated gas from four surrounding fields and delivering sales-quality gas into the national transmission grid.

A 420 km, 32-inch buried crude export line linking inland production to the coastal terminal, with three pump stations and a full leak detection and integrity system.
At a glance
The route crosses 420 km of gravel plain, twelve wadis that carry flash floods for a handful of days each year, and two areas with protected habitat. The first alignment was 26 km shorter and was abandoned: it clipped the corner of a gazelle range, and rerouting cost less than the mitigation would have.
Construction ran through 2019 and 2020, including the eight months in which pandemic restrictions capped camp occupancy at 60%. The schedule held because the spread was resequenced to run three shorter fronts with independent camps rather than one continuous front.
The line has operated since November 2021 without a reportable release. Computational pipeline monitoring compares metered flow against a hydraulic model in real time and will call a leak down to 0.6% of throughput; the wadi crossings are inspected after every significant flow event.

Two additional 780,000-barrel crude tanks, a second loading berth and a vapour recovery unit, doubling the terminal's throughput and cutting loading emissions by 96%.
